Welcome to Feather & Flame!

I’m working on a bunch of projects!

‍Welsh Harlequin Ducks! I currently have Welsh Harlequin Ducks in both the gold and silver variations. I’m not sure if I’m going to keep a gold and silver flock or choose one of the colors going forward. Right now, I’m producing both color variations in one flock. If I keep both color variations ideally, I’d like to separate the colors into their own flocks. They are an excellent dual-purpose egg and meat duck. They have wonderful personalities, are ambitious foragers, and are one of the best egg laying breeds. Check out their page to see if they’re right for you! Below shows the difference between the silver and gold variations in hens. The drakes look very similar in both color variations, below is a silver Welsh Harlequin Drake who carries gold as well. (The gold variation is not visible because silver is dominant to the gold variation.)

‍ Coturnix Quail! My main covey is primarily jumbo birds with excellent conformation, lovely temperament, unique and remarkable plumage. It’s important to me that they are healthy, enjoyable to be around, peaceful, and outstanding producers of meat and eggs.

My project covey is jumbo celadon quail (blue egg layers) with the same qualities as my main covey. They are a work in progress. To keep the celadon trait, you have to breed birds with the celadon trait together. It is a recessive gene so if diluted you won’t see the celadon eggs. This makes it a little more challenging to produce the birds. But it’s a fun challenge!

I have shipped in lines from Thieving Otter Farm, Guidroz Family Farm, and Southern Biophilliac Urban Farm. They are producing amazing birds and adding their lines has greatly improved my birds! I highly recommend considering them!

I try to get out as much as I can and video and photograph the boat traffic and wildlife on the Hudson River. I have a calendar available with my pictures of the year from the river. There are a few available, contact me if you’re interested! If you're looking for drone photography and/or videography reach out, maybe I can help!
